You’ll receive them in A4 or A0 (large format) if you want to send them to your printer. A US Letter version is also available for American printers. • Quilt a fabric with batting

The < poppy > bag is a quick and easy make — even if you’re just starting out. For this design, we’ll show you how to give your bag a beautiful finish with invisible bias binding. But if that feels a bit tricky, don’t worry : a simple double hem will look just as neat and tidy on your finished bag.

• Know how to thread your sewing machine and perform basic settings (stitch length and stitch selection)
• Understand the right side/wrong side of a fabric and grainline
• Know how to backstitch (to secure your stitches)
• Have a basic understanding of what bias binding is in sewing (but don’t worry — we’ll show you exactly how to do it in this special bias binding version !)

Making the < poppy > bag will take about 2 to 3 hours of sewing, depending on your skill level and your mood for the day ☀️

Seam allowances are always included and visible on our sewing patterns. They are 1 cm here

For the < poppy > bag, you have two options :

• You can choose a thick fabric, such as canvas, heavy gabardine, or even upholstery fabric, which will naturally give your bag structure and support. In this case, batting will not be necessary.
• Alternatively, you can opt for a lighter fabric and simply line it with batting to achieve a slightly padded effect, as we did here. We chose a white pleated polyester (luxury deadstock) whose texture really adds an original touch to this minimalist bag.
• In any case, use only woven fabrics for this project : avoid knit fabrics, which may lose their shape over time.
