Sewing pattern: choose to receive the sewing pattern of the mini skirt < cedar > in paper format (delivered to your home), or in PDF format (sent directly to your email inbox upon order validation)

NB: We sewed the blue version without finishing on the bottom (because we love raw edges as you know) but the pattern does provide for finishing :) in this case a double hem on the bottom of the skirt.
Paper Pattern
Printed in large format and ready to use, our patterns are designed to make your job easier. Pieces don't overlap, and seam allowances are included and visible, allowing you to cut directly from your pattern, without spending time tracing everything. We also include numerous anecdotes and sewing tips to help you complete your project.
Our paper patterns come in their <disclothed> paris cardboard pouch, allowing you to store them neatly in your workshop. Their layout has been optimized to use a minimum of paper 🌱
You also receive:
- A <disclothed> Paris sewing label, woven in the south of France
- A technical sheet including the cutting plan and QR codes directing you to the digital editing range and the complete tutorial video
PDF pattern
In a hurry? Opt for our PDF patterns: we've put just as much love into them as we did with our paper patterns (ease of use, sewing tips, etc.), but they have the advantage of being less expensive and landing directly in your inbox as soon as your order is validated. You'll receive them in A4 or A0 (large format) if you want to send them to your printer. A US Letter version is also available for American printers. If you've never used a PDF pattern before, we'll explain how it works here .

- Sew an elasticated waistband with LOTS of gathers (and which stays flat on the inside!)
- Create pretty topstitching
- Make a double hem
Difficulty level
Pretty easy. The < cedar > mini skirt is perfectly accessible to sewing beginners! Be careful with the fabric you choose, though: choose a fairly thin fabric if you're a beginner, as it can be harder to sew the elasticated waistband with a thick fabric.
Sewing prerequisites
- Know how to thread your machine and make basic adjustments (length and choice of stitch)
- Master the concepts of right side/wrong side of a fabric and straight grain
- Know and master the breakpoint
- Know what a seam allowance is
- Know how to "overcast" or "serge" (using a zigzag stitch on a sewing machine or an overlocker)

It will take 5 to 6 hours to make your mini skirt < cedar >
Seam allowances
Seam allowances are always included and visible in our shop. They are 1 cm here.
Recommended fabrics
- Choose a flowing fabric for this model to honor all those gathers 🩵🖤 (viscose, tencel, silk, very fine knit...)
- Weight: between 200 and 350g/m² would be ideal. A fabric that is too heavy could actually compromise the creation of your elasticated waistband (we notably did the test with the white fabric that you see in the photos here and which weighs 450g/m² - we had to "cheat" on the waistband because the weight of the fabric prevented our elastic from staying in place on the waist)

Choose your usual size
- We size our models as closely as possible to what is done in traditional ready-to-wear. So, if you usually wear a size L in stores, you should get a L here. If you're unsure, refer to the size chart below (and go to the bottom of this page if you're unsure how to measure).
- Please note, the < cedar > mini skirt was developed for a height of 165 cm: if you are taller, we advise you to lengthen your skirt slightly. mini skirt < cedar > so that it hits the middle of your thigh.

How to take your measurements when sewing?
To measure your hips, take a tape measure and measure around your hips: that is, at the widest point (across your buttocks). Do not tighten, and do not add a margin. We already add an allowance when we make the pattern.
