Kit Contents
Your sewing kit includes:
- The < slit > skirt sewing pattern is printed in large format and ready to use: no need to trace the pieces. They do not overlap and the seam allowances are included.
- The fabric - this crisp, water-repellent taffeta comes from dormant stocks of a major French luxury house (see details in the "Composition & Care" section below)
- A spool of black thread from the Gütermann brand (100m)
- A 4 cm wide elastic band for the waistband
- A <disclothed> Paris sewing label, woven in the south of France
- A technical sheet including the cutting plan and QR codes directing you to the digital editing range and the complete tutorial video

Difficulty level
The slit skirt is a beginner-friendly pattern. That said, if you're a complete beginner, we recommend starting with small accessories like our 90s scrunchies.
The material chosen for this first drop is easy to handle (contrary to appearances), and you will have no difficulty in completing your project even if you have been sewing for a short time
Sewing prerequisites
- Know how to thread your machine and make basic adjustments (length and choice of stitch)
- Master the concepts of right side/wrong side of a fabric and straight grain
- Know and master the breakpoint
- Know what a notch is and how to mark it
- Know what an overlock is and master how to make it (with a zigzag stitch or an overlocker for those who are better equipped)
Completion time
6 to 7 hours.
That said, sewing is not a race! The final result will depend largely on your patience... So to keep it a pleasure, we advise you to complete your project over 2 separate days: one day dedicated to preparing the different pieces (cutting out the pattern and your fabric) and one day dedicated to assembling it by machine.
Seam allowances
Seam allowances are always included and visible with us. They are 1 cm here, and 1.4 cm for the side seams because we suggest you make them using a French seam. The hem of the bottom of the skirt is 6 cm

SIZE GUIDE - SLIT SKIRT
- Always refer to our size chart to ensure you don't make a mistake. For this model, pay particular attention to your hip measurement: if you are between two sizes, choose the larger size.
- The < slit > skirt was developed for a height of 165 cm: if you are taller, we advise you to lengthen your < slit > skirt so that it reaches the middle of your calf.

To measure your hips, take a tape measure and measure around your hips: that is, at the widest point (across your buttocks). Do not tighten, and do not add a margin. We already add an allowance when we make the pattern.

Product information
We were desperate for a technical fabric when we designed our slit skirt, and we found the perfect fabric for it. This black taffeta brings a sportswear feel to the skirt, while maintaining a classic cut. The long slit in the back adds a feminine touch.
Crackling and water-repellent taffeta
This black crackle taffeta has light streaks that give it a very luxurious look. It is also water-repellent: you can spill any liquid on it, it will immediately run down your skirt, without leaving a stain 🍷

- 100% polyamide (nylon)
- Made in Italy
- Weight: 127 g/m²
- This fabric comes from dormant stocks of a major French luxury house
- Care: cold wash or 30°C max, and iron at VERY LOW temperature otherwise it may melt ⚠️ Our taffeta does not require ironing to be worn nicely. Hang your skirt on a hanger for a few hours, it will smooth itself out. You can possibly iron your skirt when making it to mark the folds, but be really careful to stay on a very low temperature (or you will end up with a hole). In general, always test the heat of your iron on a scrap
- This fabric is very thin but durable. Very soft against the skin and very light, taffeta has the particularity of making a little noise when you walk.
