OUR COMMITMENTS

SOURCING

We source as many of our products as possible from France, and we try to limit ourselves to European sources in the "worst" case. The choice of each component in our kits has been designed to limit our ecological and/or social impact, in one way or another.

TRANSPARENCY & ACCOUNTABILITY

This page isn't intended to tell you that we do everything perfectly, but rather to be transparent about how we work, including what we do well and what we don't. If you have any questions or suggestions for improvement, please let us know by completing the form at the bottom of this page.

SEWING PATTERNS

Our patterns are printed in large format by our printer in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, recognized for its ecological commitment ( ISO 9001 , ISO 14001 certifications and Imprim'Vert® label). All our patterns are printed on recyclable, FSC -certified paper.

Although our patterns are designed to make your work easier (the pieces do not overlap), their layout has been optimized to use as little paper as possible.

FABRICS

We do not produce any fabrics. All the fabrics we use come from dormant stocks of major luxury houses, or from end-of-line items from committed French weavers. This allows us to not overproduce new fabrics, but rather to revalue existing fabrics. To learn more about our fabrics, we invite you to visit this page .

Having decided to internalize the entire product development phase, we are required to develop numerous prototypes to expand our collections. All of these prototypes are also revalued: we donate them, wear them, or destroy them in order to recover the fabrics and other supplies for our next prototypes.

HABERDASHERY

It is sometimes more difficult for us to obtain information on certain items in our haberdashery, particularly in terms of provenance.
This is the case with some of our buttons and elastics (certainly produced in China and Türkiye but we are not certain).

We work with a wholesaler in the suburbs of Paris who guides us as best he can on these questions, but we can see that some information is more difficult to verify (on his side too!) on certain references. Because if he himself gets his supplies from another (larger) wholesaler based in Italy, he suspects that not everything is produced on site, and that a large part is imported.

Opacity in the fashion industry is a real problem that we are unfortunately still powerless to address today.

That said, most of the haberdashery items you'll find in our sewing kits come from market-leading brands (Gütermann for threads, PRYM for snap fasteners, Vlieseline for iron-on adhesive, etc.), to guarantee impeccable quality and thus a result that lives up to the luxurious fabrics we offer. Working with these renowned companies is also a way for us to ensure that employees involved in the value chain are paid and treated correctly.
Since we're still very small, we don't yet have the means to go directly to their premises to check all of this. We work with wholesalers because the quantities we order don't allow us to deal with these large companies directly.

PATTERN POCKETS

We source our 100% recyclable cardboard sleeves made from wood from sustainably managed forests ( FSC certification) from our Strasbourg printer, who uses exclusively vegetable-based inks and is Imprim'Vert certified. This label implies very strict monitoring of their waste, particularly in terms of sorting and recycling.

Our pattern pouches allow you to store your patterns over time without damaging them, the idea being to be able to reuse them as many times as you like.

EXPLANATORY BOOKLETS

There aren't any! We decided from the very beginning of this project not to print explanatory booklets, in an effort to save paper.

Instead, we have included QR codes on our sewing patterns: they take you directly to the assembly range associated with your model, accessible online on our website.

Your QR codes also direct you to the model's tutorial video, which can be viewed freely and free of charge on our YouTube channel and explains each of the stages of production in images.

TEXTILE LABELS

Our <disclothed> paris textile labels are made of polyester and hand-woven in the South of France, in a small workshop not far from Marseille.

Beyond favoring local production, it was above all quality that guided our choice after having been able to compare several suppliers.

The weave is fine and precise, the finish is satiny, and above all, our textile labels do not scratch the skin - an essential criterion for us to guarantee you optimal comfort.

PACKAGING & PACKAGING

Since the beginning of the project, we've been striving to minimize the use of unnecessary packaging: your package will only contain the packaging necessary for the safe transport of our products. No more stickers, boxes within boxes, and endless sheets of silk. In our boxes, you'll find everything you need to protect fabrics, haberdashery, and your sewing pattern.

This approach aims not only to reduce our ecological footprint, but also to offer you a more authentic and minimalist shopping experience, where every element counts.

SHIPPING BOXES

Our shipping boxes are produced in Poland and are made from at least 70% recycled cardboard and are FSC certified. They are themselves recyclable, biodegradable, and even compostable.

We've chosen to keep our shipping boxes in their natural kraft color, with no printing on the exterior or interior. This decision reduces dye pollution and makes them easier to recycle.

We also encourage you to reuse this packaging for your future shipments, thus extending its life cycle.
