Printed in large format and ready to use, our patterns are designed to make your job easier. The pieces do not overlap, and seam allowances are included and clearly visible, allowing you to cut directly into your pattern without spending time tracing everything. We also include lots of sewing anecdotes and tips to help you successfully complete your project.
Our paper patterns are delivered in their < disclothed > paris cardboard sleeve, so you can store and keep them neatly in your workshop. The layout has been optimized to use as little paper as possible 🌱

In a hurry? Choose our PDF patterns : we put just as much care and love into these as we do into our paper patterns (ease of use, sewing tips, etc.), but they have the added advantage of being more affordable and landing directly in your inbox as soon as your order is confirmed. You’ll receive them in A4 or A0 (large format) if you want to send them to your printer. A US Letter version is also available for American printers. The < slit > skirt is a design suitable for beginner sewists. That said, if you are a complete beginner, we recommend starting with small accessories like our < 90's > scrunchies

• Know how to thread your sewing machine and perform basic settings (stitch length and stitch selection)
• Understand the right side/wrong side of a fabric and grainline
• Know how to back stitch (to secure your stitches)
• Know what a notch is and how to mark one
• Understand what an overlock / overcast / serger stitch is and how to make one (using a zigzag stitch or a serger if you have one)

6 to 7 hours.

That said, sewing isn’t a race ! The final result will depend a lot on your patience… So to keep it enjoyable, we recommend working on your project over two separate days : one day for preparing all the pieces (cutting your pattern and fabric), and another day for sewing and assembling everything on your machine.

Seam allowances are always included and visible in our patterns. For this project, they are 1 cm, except for the side seams, which are 1.4 cm so you can use a French seam. The hem allowance at the bottom of the skirt is 6 cm.

• Many fabrics are suitable for our < slit > skirt. We advise against “plush” fabrics that do not hold pleats well and would make the slit look awkward, as well as knit fabrics in general, which would add unnecessary weight and take away from the sporty look we aimed for during development
• A minimum weight of 120 g/m² is necessary to avoid a cheap look (this skirt is not lined), but avoid fabrics that are too thick, as they would add unwanted volume around the waist with the elasticated waistband

• a 4 cm wide elastic band, with a length equivalent to your waist measurement plus 5 cm
• a pair of paper scissors
• a pair of fabric scissors
• an iron
• 2 safety pins
• a box of sewing pins
• a hand sewing needle
• a measuring tape
• a seam ripper, just in case !

Please note: Always allow 5-10% more than the size chart indicates - depending on your fabric's shrinkage potential. If you choose to sew the maxi (ankle-length) version, refer to the chart below.
